Ivy & Co. has a Home!

You read that right. Ivy and Co. has it's own little store front! On August 6, we opened for the first time. Let me be the one to tell you that it was really unexpected.

Earlier this summer our family moved from a 3 bedroom house to a 2 bedroom. That 3rd bedroom was the home of Ivy & Co., so I needed to find a storage space, especially for my furniture projects. The space I chose was really neat, because it wasn't your normal storage unit. It's actually a small section of a big warehouse, which is owned by a family member, and is surrounded by small businesses owned by our friends. In fact, Cru, my sis-in-law's shop, is in the "unit" next door!

Here's the "before" shot. Just a wooden shell.

It didn't take long for it to fill up with "junk." My "junk." It was my own little workshop, not at all a store. I actually told myself that my vision for Ivy & Co. did not include a shop, so I needed to stop thinking about it.

But then one day I finished a few projects, hung some curtains, straightened up, and hid the rest of the junk behind the curtains. Somehow the little space looked ready for product... right?!

So I moved it all in!

Made in Hawaii shopping on Kauai by Fresh Shave
The Fresh Shave is one of our outside neighbors. They make delicious specialty shave ice, right out of their retro trailer. We eat it a couple times a week! So yummy! This one is called the Chevron. Yes, those are chia seeds.

Dark Roost is another vintage trailer outside the warehouse, specializing in coffee and tea. Their weekly specials are my fave. Can you say peanut butter and coffee?! Amazing!

Kickshaws is also our food truck neighbor,  serving gourmet food at diner prices. Their ingredient list is out of this world!

This little crew of businesses at the warehouse brings great products to the community, while creating just that-- community. You can stop by at any point during business hours and you're sure to be met with a friendly smile.

So whether you're visiting Kauai, or you live here, come stop by the warehouse, located at 3540 Koloa Road, in Lawai.

Ivy & Co. opens on Thursdays and Fridays at 11am. We are there until 1:30pm, if not later. We are also open by appointment, and for special events at the warehouse.

On the days we're closed, I like to go down and work on new pieces. Well, they're usually old pieces, ha! These 3 were attacked by me today.

All of my sewing items ended up in Ivy's (the daughter's) room. Our new bedrooms are abnormally long, so there's plenty of room for Ivy, the daughter, and Ivy, the Co. to share.

I still can't believe one afternoon of "cleaning up" turned into a mini shop of my own. Thanks to everyone who's been on the Ivy & Co. journey thus far. It's been a fun one! I hope to see you at the warehouse!

Aloha, Rebecca
